So here we are again. It's been barely a month, and people are still crying for the entire logistics class to be nerfed... again. I thought we were past this when several dedicated logibros in our community had joined in my campaign to brainstorm ways to make the Assault, class more attractive by giving them better racial bonuses through this OP. (Please direct all +1s to Logi Bro) But, it looks like not much has changed since we're having this argument again and again:

Logis should have side arm only, and as I know its a favorite make tell MD a sidearm or change pg/cpu somehow so that's the only viable light weapon without crippling the suit in terms of slots.

Currently, non combat roles are limited to logis due to their equipment slots being high enough to support real sp attainment during a match. Also combined this with the fact that most of the equipment is logistics oriented.
Scouts (sidewinders) and heavies (point defense) are limited to flanking roles due to suit constraints, heavies don't have the range/speed/hp combo to push and scouts lack the slots and survivability to separate themselves from speed tanking logis and assaults.
I also think this explains the dynamics of suit popularity as well.
Anyways, what are your thoughts on this and the balance between suit popularity? Do you think an introduction of alternative roles would assist the less popular suits and if so what should they be?
A personal fear of mine but do you think that the fact that since scouts and heavies are more marginalized and are a minority that they could potentially never really be develop in the game due to time and effort spent on a ever shrinking population? I also believe this is why the devs introduced all the assault and logistic suits first and are more interested in introducing all the assault rifles before anything else.
Anyways, all thoughts are appreciated and thank you for your time.
So, for the final time, I'm going to make this argument again about the logistics class as a whole, since everyone seems to think that all logi suits are OP even though it's the Caldari logi that gives the impression of being OP through its racial bonus. First, let's look at the racial logi suits' stats in comparison to the Assault and Scout. I'm excluding Heavy/Sentinels and Scouts because CCP doesn't like you guys. No, I'm only joking. Heavies have their own problem because they still only have one racial frame and one class suit with a bonus meant for something still on the drawing boards. I'll add Scout comparisons later after some experimentation, for now here's the comparisons of all the base stats between logistics suits and their racial counterparts. |

sure many people including myself shield tank logis but now I carry a nanohive and will carry spawn uplinks soon. Although I originally intended to just shield tank it opens up a whole new avenue with many options for a new playstyle.
if you nerf logis for the sake of assault logis then you nerf support logis too. CaLogi is the only one that needs to be reworked. Tone their racial bonus down to 2~3% shield extender proficiency per level and everything balances out. But the assaults' suit and racial bonuses need work. Having a shield related bonus for a Gallente assault is like having ammo capacity upgrades for nova knives. |
